I authorize Courtney Fire Department personnel to enter my property for the purpose of evaluating, installing, testing, and/or replacing smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and related safety equipment requested through this program.
I understand that these alarms are provided as a community fire-prevention service and that no alarm or safety device can prevent every fire, carbon monoxide incident, injury, property loss, or death. I understand that I remain responsible for testing, maintaining, and replacing alarms as recommended by the manufacturer after installation.
To the extent permitted by law, I agree to release and hold harmless Courtney Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., its officers, members, employees, volunteers, agents, and program partners from claims arising from participation in this program or the installation of the requested equipment, except to the extent resulting from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or liability that cannot legally be waived.
